Rush Has Passed

Steyn sounded odd yesterday.  I suspect they knew by then.  Once the jig is truly up, this sort of thing gets on a pretty accurate timetable.

I’ll defer to Mongo’s excellent (if early) Eulogy over at Ricochet.

Thanks, Rush!

It is now time to panic.

  1. It is a sad day for our country. We have lost a real patriot. Prayers of comfort for his family.

Indeed. I do encourage folks to visit the site across the street to view Boss Mongo’s remarks (link in OP), published days before Maharushi succumbed.

  3. It is a wonderful post. When Diana, newsletter editor, asked to publish his OP, I had a feeling today was coming sooner not later.

  5. My heart is breaking with this news. I owe so much to Rush, his influence really helped me grow intellectually and taught me how to think critically (I did go to Public school). I would listen to him everyday, so it’s like losing a good friend, even though I never met him. I will be praying for Rush’s soul, but his influence goes on. He was a true national treasure. Rest in Peace, El Rushbo and go to your eternal reward because God knows he deserves it.

  6. As somebody said over on PW (Patriots.win, which is the new home of TheDonald.win), I imagine the scene as the Pearly Gates swing open and The Pretenders’ “Ohio” starts to play — Rush’s theme music.

Chrissie Hynde is no conservative, but when people pressured her to block Rush from using the epic opening bars from that song of hers, she said no, my Dad was a conservative and he loved Rush. And so for decades, this lefty rocker helped hold the line.

Right on, right on, right ON.

Yea, I remember hearing about Chrissie Hynde, who is probably more of an old school liberal than a real lefty. After all she loved her conservative dad. If she were a “woke” lefty she would’ve hated him. But I also remember her using the royalty money for her animal rights causes. Which I always found funny, I’m sure Rush did too.
Steve Bannon put on his email about Rush “Talent returned to God”. I think was a great way of putting it.

  9. As I said on the Other Site, I started to listen to Rush in 1988 when I was 39. I am now 71. We grew old together.

There’s a 3 hour a day hole in my heart.

RIP, Rush. You said the Left couldn’t defeat you because they didn’t make you; you were sustained by us, all of us millions of ordinary Americans who loved you. And love abides.
