Bravo, Polish Officials!!
Poland is making it legally possible to fine Big Tech platforms up to $13.5 million per case when a platform censors any users or remove any posts for ideological reasons. (Trump might have become a billionaire another time or two over if this had applied here in the USA when Twitter banned his tweets so often.)
Poland’s Deputy Justice Minister stated: “Poland spent 45 years under communism,” says. “It taught us the value of free speech”
Poland fights Big Tech with push to block social media censorship
Deputy Polish Justice Minister Sebastian Kaleta says that Trump’s removal from Twitter sets a dangerous precedent
from the above link: “Social media companies that censor users or remove posts for ideological reasons could soon face fines in Poland in a world-first attempt to curb the power of Big Tech through legislation. Speaking to Fox News, the architect of the law, Deputy Polish Justice Minister Sebastian Kaleta, said social media companies have for too long been targeting conservatives, Christianity and traditional values by banning them and by removing posts. Finally the Polish government is saying “enough!”
“’We see that when Big Tech decides to remove content for political purposes, it’s mostly content which praises traditional values or praises conservatism,” he said, “and it is deleted under their ‘hate speech policy’ when it has no legal right to do so.’
“Any content platform provider who removes a post which is not suggesting illegal activity will face the possibility of receiving a 13.5 million dollar law against the social platform that misbehaves.” ####

However down in Australia, Facebook is now announcing that there will be no news discussion allowed on Facebook. They claim this has to happen because the news orgs that are being mentioned are not getting any revenue when users link to news media. It appears the Australian government wanted FB to pay the news media when it was mentioned, but FB didn’t want to go there.
In addition to deleting news from news outlets, the FB group and website pages relating to hospitals, cities, governmental agencies, weather reports etc were vaporized as well. Now a FB spokesman is saying that was done inadvertently, and that those websites and links will be restored. But who knows?

This is pretty messed up but I wouldn’t classify it as the most “INSANE” act of censorship ever. I would consider banning THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES the most insane act of censorship. Or tech giants colluding together to eliminate Parler.
Additionally, on gab Donald Trump discussed the Australian people’s dilemma with Facebook, and this link was offered: More on Australia’s dealings with Facebook
